Luxury vinyl is a trouble-free flooring material

Luxury vinyl is the go-to material for those who desire no-fuss flooring. The easy wipe pet-and child-friendly flooring repels water, scratches, and stains. Luxury vinyl tile and luxury vinyl plank flooring can be installed anywhere in the home. While LVP usually has a wood look, LVT flooring can have a wood, stone, or ceramic look. A wide selection of this versatile floor covering can be found at Leon Country Floors, located in Sparta, Wisconsin.

Multiple layer flooring composition

Because of advanced printing and texturing technologies, luxury vinyl flooring looks similar to the natural material it imitates. The synthetic floor covering is composed of several layers that are pressed together. The surface wear layer protects the high-tech design layer. Some manufacturers even put a coating on the wear layer for extra protection. Opt for a thick wear layer, preferably at least 20-mil, for maximum durability. The flooring also has a backing layer and a core layer that resists dents and moisture.

Waterproof flooring

Luxury vinyl flooring that has a wood-plastic composite or a stone plastic composite core is waterproof. WPC and SPC flooring feel similar underfoot to the flooring it mimics. But WPC flooring is more comfortable since it contains a foaming agent. Both types of rigid core flooring can be wet for an extended period without structural change. That means the flooring does not swell or sustain any kind of damage, and lifespan is not shortened. Waterproof luxury vinyl is ideal for basements, including those that are usually damp or that may become flooded.

Your LVF installation experts in the Sparta area

LVP and LVT, including brands with a rigid core, are usually installed as a floating floor that needs no attachment to the subfloor. These planks and tiles are designed to click and lock together. Padding, which provides cushioning and noise reduction, is pre-attached to the flooring or placed on the subfloor during installation. A vapor barrier can be included if moisture is present. While floating floors are the norm, glue down flooring is also available.
